This series of gif photos composed selected Chinese censored films with the pictures from Google earth street photo in China.

(Google becomes a company that sells space and collects information about its users and the world. The another reason i use the photo from google is reflecting on the idea of censorship because this website is also blocked in China. )

Speaking of film as an entertaining production for the public, it is hard to avoid the censorship system of each community. Censorship standards vary widely by country, and can vary within an individual country over time due to political or moral change. However in China where has no rating system, all the film must be deemed to suit all audience. This leads to a phenomenon that many worldwide recognised Chinese directors always has minor recognition in domestic.Mainly because the representation of the sexuality or the political issue, those prize winners are facing a situation of being banned or cut in order to be released. From the fifth generation directors(boomed after the cultural revolution) who firstly started to get world recognition in Chinese film history, there is a list of films from that period were banned for screening temporarily, a few permanently. Even it is common for films to be edited to fall into certain rating classifications.
